Why I started this blog

Doug Thompson, of Capitol Hill Blue felt compelled to write about 9-11 conspiracy theories after Charlie Sheen went public with his doubts about the official story. Sheen voiced concerns that millions of us have. Thompson swift-boated Charlie Sheen for his doubts. He came back with a whole column dedicated to the shortcomings of Mr. Sheen. Both have been removed from CHB’s archives.

I have been trying to figure out why Doug Thompson picked 9-11 as a subject matter. Since 9-11, not a day goes by that I don't think of it. Yes, you could call me obsessed. It's the biggest event to happen to this country in many of our lives. You can say I'm insane. It's hard to look at these things and not go off your rocker.

For a while, I was starting to settle back into a semi-comfortable state of acceptance. If Doug Thompson hadn't put those rants out there pertaining to Charlie Sheen and his 9-11 doubts, I would have eventually closed my eyes to it like everybody else.

There were quite a few uninformed people commenting on CHB‘s forum, but there were also a lot of intelligent, thoughtful caring people who weighed in on the subject. Obviously, those moderating Thompson's board and Thompson himself were biased from the get-go, but the debate needed to take place and many people registered for CHB specifically to comment about why we had doubts and why Thompson‘s columns were anything but fair. Already a long-time reader, it was the first time I was ever compelled to register just to comment on something I felt so strongly about. I soon found out I wasn't alone.

You can pretty much guess what happened next. Emotions were running high and Thompson and his moderators did everything they could to squelch the discourse. They were deleting posts left and right, editing people’s thoughts and opinions until they became something other than what the poster had intended. I was warned on a number of occasions from moderators that I was close to incivility. (eh, whatever…I have a talent) Close to is not the same as being. Unless I was being unreasonable or uncivil they had no argument.

When they pointed out specifics, I still didn’t see what they were talking about. However, there is one telling thing. It happened while I was being reprimanded for the umpteenth time for bogus reasons. In this case, the post mentioned wasn’t even in the 9-11 conspiracy thread. (the one surviving 9-11 thread was entitled “Charlie Sheen”) A CHB moderator in private message tried to say that my comment in an ungodly long thread debating the Cynthia Mckinney issue where I posted an observation that I couldn’t believe they had 6 pages of discussion for such a non-issue, was close to the line. Now here’s where the ah-ha comes in. She ended her scolding with this, “Now tell me what new BS you posted to the Charlie Sheen thread?”

Doug posted a few columns by other writers sharing his view that any theory besides the official one was bunk. One by Betsy Hart ( Link ) revealed that when she went on Hannity and Colmes to debate the Charlie Sheen comments that none of those participating could be persuaded to think other than Islamic terrorists carried out the attacks. Consequently, she came out with an article confessing that she was inundated with emails from angry viewers who didn’t share her views. Of course, they were all dismissed with the same tired line, the government provided us with specifics on the why and how.

The Popular Mechanics article found at this url Link , was sited and praised by Hart as the final answer. Never mind that Popular Mechanics is published by Rupert Murdoch, a huge GOP enabler. Oh, and don’t even worry that the writer of the PM article was one Benjamin Chertoff, cousin to Michael Chertoff. Yes, THAT Michael Chertoff, Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security.

My account at CHB was suspended and my public outlet for grievance and discussion was taken away. How frustrating to finally see the door open a crack, only to have it slammed shut.

Too many secrets. Too much government resistance to an investigation. Nothing except our imaginations to conclude what happened on the most horrible day of our lives...and I don't live anywhere NEAR NYC or D.C. but I'm crying now as I type this...all those people are dead and we don't even know why.

I want answers and I need help to find them. Everybody is free to post whatever is on their mind about this issue. I only ask that you do your homework and don’t point fingers unless it’s a plausible argument and can be rationally explained. Do post your doubts and why you have them. Don’t be hateful because you don’t agree. Reasonably discuss why you don’t agree. This is something that needs to be fully vetted one way or the other. Even if it’s just ordinary Americans on some nobody’s blog space.
If you would like to share any thoughts, suspicions or sentiments you have about the day and any other thing about 9/11 you feel you need to unload, please leave comments.

America might be down, but we’ll never be out.
