I just downloaded this and listened to it.I don't think he was referring to societys per se - I think he was referring to the then current ideology of the eeeeevil communist empire taking over the wrold and was asking the media to self censor - but I could be wrong there... : )
But then again JFK DID start the ugliness in 'Nam
yes...but he also emphasizes that the press has a responsibility to the people.
there's evidence that JFK was considering pulling out of Vietnam shortly before he was killed.

So I ask you all, why are we starting to resemble that which our people have given their blood and sweat to resist?
